Our Team
Our general partners have over 20 years of combined experience investing in seed stage and Series A start-ups with exits in what have become industry leaders in fields ranging from clean tech, blockchain (BlockDaemon, Hut8, Cipher), social media (Facebook, Pinterest), consumer internet (HipCamp) and dual-use space technologies (Albedo, Lonestar). From seed to exit, our portfolio from Fund 0: CampFire has grown to over $100m AUM with over $1 bn in successful exits. We were the first seed investors behind numerous unicorns that are now everyday names including SunRun, the leading residential solar panel and battery storage company in the U.S., and BitFury, the leading full-service blockchain technology and crypto-infrastructure firm in the world. We believe success for our entrepreneurs is not an exit, but rather when their innovation has reached the lives of millions and changed the fabric of how we live for the better on our singular earth.
meagan JONES
Meagan is a Santa Fe-based futurist who loves complex systems and improving the world and people’s lives through technology. After gaining finance experience in New York and Silicon Valley between Blackstone, Lehman Brothers, and the venture fund Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Meagan discovered her endless enthusiasm for start-ups in an operating role in Silicon Valley.
As part of the first 15 full-time team members at Facebook in 2005, she was the Principal for the Growth, Mobile & International team. She initiated user growth efforts globally to grow Facebook from a few million users to over a billion active users, in addition to guiding the launch strategy for Facebook Platform, and developed the product strategy for Facebook Ads, which became Facebook’s primary monetization strategy. She also was responsible for hiring over 100 early company leaders and executives.
Since 2013, she has dedicated herself to angel investments and advisory roles. She independently has seed-funded and advised over 50 start-ups in areas wide-ranging from solar financing, blockchain, cannabis, and ethical cosmetics. She also supports shark research missions (the first hammerhead shark tagged off of Japan was named in honor of her daughter Zelda).
She relocated to New Mexico in 2020 to raise a larger venture fund in the deep technology sector. New Mexico has proven to be a compelling landscape for technology commercialization, as well as a fantastic place to geek out with LANL and Santa Fe Institute nerds, fulfill her deep love of extreme adventure in the mountains, and a killer spot to raise her children and menagerie of farm animals.
She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard with multiple degrees, including a Masters of Science in Environmental Engineering (with graduate coursework at MIT in nuclear engineering) and a joint bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics and Economics. She also received her MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business with a focus in entrepreneurship under the mentorship of greats like Eric Schmidt and Andy Rachleff. She completed her MBA while working full-time at a startup and likes to stay busy. When it comes to her work vibe, she believes in efficiency, scalability, and loves solving high leverage complex cross-disciplinary problems, but insists on having fun in the process. She cares deeply about accountability, trust, and transparency as core values in everything she does.
